CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Today, Wednesday, 23 November 2022, the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, chaired an awareness seminar on the procedures for importing/exporting goods by air, in the presence of Mrs. Marie Melanie Bell, a member of CNSC’s Board of Directors and a key speaker at the seminar.

The seminar mainly sought to further acquaint shippers and foreign trade actors with the procedures for importing and exporting goods by air.
It was partly an opportunity for the CNSC to meet with stakeholders of this mode of transport, especially now that the CNSC has set up offices in Cameroon's airports, notably the Douala International Airport and the Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport, and also a means of providing better support to stakeholders of air freight on the multimodal transport chain.

In her presentation, Mrs. Marie Melanie Bell, a Licensed Customs Broker and CEO of Société Nationale de Transit et de Services, outlined all the documents required during the import/export procedure for the entire air cargo logistics chain. She further explained the entire procedure from the purchase of goods to their arrival at destination.

The three-man team from the Cameroon Customs Department comprised of Mr. Ibrahim Mimche, Head of the DGD's Trade Facilitation Unit, Mr. Noël Zambo, Sub Director for Freight Management - Littoral Customs Sector II, and Mr. Achille Oleme, Senior Customs Officer at the Douala Airport, gave a succinct overview of customs requirements in terms of restrictions, prohibitions and incentives for specific types of goods.
