On March 8, Cameroon joined the rest of the world to celebrate the 37th edition of the International Women's Rights Day (IWD) under the theme "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow". This event is the ideal occasion for women to reflect on their roles in today’s society and how to improve their living conditions.

Unable to parade over the past 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the much-awaited grand parade of this year's edition was presided over in Douala by the Governor of the Littoral Region, Mr. Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua. CNSC Ladies, always at the very forefront, celebrated the crowd-pulling event with much excitement together with women from other sectors of activity. The day started with a massive display at the Besséké Boulevard in Douala where the women had their parade, a memorable one indeed.

With the same ambiance as on the boulevard, CNSC Ladies continued the celebration of this special day in the training hall of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council where a buffet had been offered in their honour by CNSC's General Manager, Mr. Auguste MBAPPE PENDA, who unceasingly strives to promote the growth and development of women in the corporate world.

Wanting to give a special touch to the 2022 International Women's Rights Day, CNSC Ladies organised many activities such as a fashion show, songs and poems celebrating the courage of women. Each of their performances was warmly applauded by their male colleagues who came to support them. To close the occasion, awards, trophies and medals were presented to some CNSC Ladies for their remarkable performance during the football match on Saturday 05 March 2022 at the Bépanda mini-pitch as a prelude to the 2022-IWD.
