SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

CNSC's commitment to better protect the interests of shippers.

The Douala 2022 open days, organised by the National Ports Authority (NPA) on Thursday 28 July, was an opportunity for the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) to inform participants on the “Contributions of the ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) to securing the passage of goods through the port."

The event was chaired by the Governor of the Littoral Region in the presence of an array of personalities of the port sector, amongst whom the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda.

Mr. Elvis Tsaguim, CNSC’s Director of Operations, presented an outstanding paper on the Contribution of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) to the securing of the passage of goods, under the watchful eye of CNSC's Deputy General Manager, Mr. Younouss Soungui.

The General Manager of the NPA, Dr. Louis Eboupeke, gave his closing remarks shortly after a presentation by his collaborator titled “The Implementation of the ISPS Code: certification process at the Port of Douala-Bonabéri, a guarantee of competitiveness.” Equally noteworthy was the paper delivered by the Port Authority of Douala (PAD) on the theme "Competitiveness: a major security challenge".

The Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE) also delivered a presentation themed "The E-Guce: an instrument for reducing transit times and costs at the Port of Douala-Bonabéri". The NPA Open Day equally featured a presentation by the Health and Sanitary Post, outlining its strategic role at the Port of Douala - Bonabéri.
