The Joint Committee between the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) and the Special Programme for the Reconstruction and Development of the Far North Region (PSRDREN), created for the CNSC Kousseri Trucker Accommodation Centre development project, held its first meeting on 5 March 2025 in Douala.
The Chairman, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, who doubles as CNSC's General Manager, opened the meeting with words of gratitude to the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Mr. Ousmane Alamine Mey, for the financial support granted to the CNSC towards the development of its trucker facility in Kousseri.
The agenda, as validated by the Vice-Chairman Mr. Alhadji Magra Massou and other members of the joint committee, contained several points, including the reading of texts constituting the joint committee, the presentation of the CNSC Kousseri Trucker Accommodation Centre Development Project, and the drafting of an action plan.
Discussions led to the adoption of three key recommendations: the transmission within a week of the plans and technical reports of the CNSC Kousseri Trucker Accommodation Centre to the Divisional Delegates and MINEPAT experts in the committee; an on-site visit by CNSC experts within 2 weeks for an updated report on the situation; and finally, the holding of a second meeting in Kousseri come April 2025.
