The General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, welcomed the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers' Council, Mr. Akuta Pius Ukeyima, yesterday 7 December 2023. The objective of the visit was to learn about Cameroon's experience in the establishment of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN), with a view to implementing a similar solution in Nigeria.
The discussions took place in the presence of CNSC's Director of Operations, Mr. Elvis Donfack Tsaguim, and the Head of CNSC's Information Systems Division, Mr. Claude Koum. Together, they described the ECTN creation process, from both an IT and operational point of view, complemented by a guided tour of the various units involved in the process.
Publications containing valuable data on Cameroon’s maritime trade were also of particular interest to the Nigerian delegation. This benchmarking exercise demonstrates the CNSC's expertise in the implementation of ECTNs, an important trade information tool.
