The General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, took part in the opening ceremony of the inaugural meeting of the Committee of national and international experts for the drafting of the new CEMAC Regional Economic Programme.
This ceremony took place on 17 September 2024 at the BEAC Regional Office in Douala under the chairmanship of H.E. Baltasar Engonga Edjo'o, Chairman of the CEMAC Commission. Scheduled to run until 20 September 2024, this inaugural meeting seeks to define the new 2025-2050 development strategy for the CEMAC region.
Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda was invited to the session by the Permanent Secretariat of the CEMAC Economic and Financial Reform Programme (PREF-CEMAC). This was thanks to his status as chairman of the Ad hoc sub-committee charged with implementing the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area) Guided Trade Initiative in Cameroon. This collaboration will greatly contribute to the achievement of the objectives set by this first meeting of the New CEMAC Regional Economic Programme Drafting Committee which seeks to transform CEMAC States into productive economies, and to make the CEMAC region an integrated, prosperous economic zone founded on good governance.
