Cameroon Transport Minister chairs Regional Maritime University (RMU) graduation ceremony
On the esteemed instructions of the President of the Republic, the Cameroon Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chancellor of the RMU, presided at the 15th graduation ceremony of the said institution.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by the Cameroon delegation led by the Minister of Transport of Cameroon and made up of the General Manager of the National Ports Authority, representatives of the Port Authorities of Douala and Kribi as well as of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC).
During the said ceremony, the Chancellor addressed the over 549 RMU students, including a dozen from Cameroon. He invited them to adopt an entrepreneurial spirit in the face of job scarcity and to make the most of job openings in Cameroon and abroad. The Chancellor urged them to be honest, determined and selfless in order to be successful in life. After the address, the Minister handed academic certificates to grandaunts while commending their commitment as true ambassadors of their respective countries.
Apart from the graduation ceremony, the Cameroon delegation will take part in the RMU Committee of Experts meeting headed by Cameroonian-born Professor Gerard-Marie Messina, from 3 to 4 August 2021 before the RMU Board of Directors’ meeting billed for 5 August 2021.
Cameroon, one of the five RMU founding countries, which include Ghana, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, was elected chair of the RMU Board of Governors during the 23rd session of the said council that held in Yaounde in March 2020.
