The Governor of the Adamawa Region, Mr. Kildadi Boukar, presided over the official ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone of the CNSC Ngaoundere Trucker Accommodation Centre on Tuesday, 24 October 2023. The ceremony, which took place at Tchabal Djalingo, host site of the facility in the Ngaoundere III subdivision, was attended by the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, along with a high turn-out of the town's administrative and traditional authorities.
Speaking at the ceremony, CNSC’s General Manager underlined that “Ngaoundere is a natural relay point for the transportation of goods between the northern regions of Cameroon and the rest of the country. Thanks to its geographic location, it plays a key role in Cameroon's trade with the Central African Republic, Nigeria and Chad.”
The intensity of traffic along the Douala/Kribi – Ndjamena road corridor passing through Ngaoundere is what prompted the CNSC to take up this project with a view to foster trade between States of the CEMAC Sub-Region, providing safety to persons and goods on transit.
Transporters using Cameroon's road corridors are hereby invited to take full advantage of the services offered by CNSC trucker accommodation centres and regional offices in the country.
