The WCF (World Chambers Federation) Africa Summit holding on 9 and 10 April 2025 was officially launched today at the Radison Blu Hotel Conference Hall in Nairobi, by H.E. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya, in the presence of government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, chamber leaders and the African business community.
Organised in collaboration with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) under the theme “Africa’s Global Future: Integrated, Innovative and Sustainable”, the event brought together over 1,000 delegates to discuss the influential role of African chambers of commerce in driving sustainable and inclusive growth across the continent.
Day one of the 2-day event set the tone for high-level insights on increasing protectionism, AfCFTA implementation and how Africa can effectively participate in global value chains. Discussions explored critical issues such as inclusive financial strategies, digital trade transformation, and overcoming barriers for women and youth-led businesses.
The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) was represented at the event by Mr. Achille Yamen, Technical Advisor No. 3 at the CNSC, and Mr. Njume Randolph, CNSC Service Head for Translation. Both shared Cameroon's experience in the implementation of the AfCFTA with other delegates, given that Cameroon is one of the eight countries selected for AfCFTA's Guided Trade Initiative.
Over the two days of the event, focus will be placed on how African businesses are breaking down borders by eliminating Non-Tariff Barriers and showcasing success stories of cross-border trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), offering participants firsthand information on how African businesses are gearing up to face current trends in global trade.
