The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) organised a series of consultation meetings in Garoua-Boulai from 19 to 23 March 2026, chaired by the District Officer of the locality, Mr. Assé Julien Martial. The proceedings, which took place in the meeting room of the CNSC Garoua-Boulai Trucker Accommodation Centre and at the sub-prefecture, formed part of the launch of Land ECTN issuance (Electronic Cargo Tracking Form) at the CNSC East Regional Office.
Attended by administrative authorities and law enforcement officials, Mr. Sylvain Mbang Mbang, Regional Branch Manager, and Mr. Robert Clauzel Bikele, Service Head for Export and Regularization ECTN for sea-bound freight, explained the role of the CNSC and the importance of the ECTN in international trade, respectively.
Several other issues were discussed during the meeting, including Import/Export ECTN issuance rates at various border crossings in the East Region, the procedures and mechanisms to collect these fees, as well as the administrative authority charged with overseeing the process.
The meeting ended with one key recommendation - the need to harmonize ECTN rates across the entire country.
