The General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council herby informs shippers, ship-owners, ship’s agents and other business persons that it is generally prohibited to make changes to the information contained in the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).
However, in exceptional cases, modification requests will be carefully considered and may lead to the payment of an additional service charge, in the event that it is clearly established that the fault leading to the modification request lies with the shipper.
In order to be compliant with the esteemed instructions of the Government to digitise foreign trade procedures, such modification requests should be made electronically via besc@cncc.cm.
As a reminder, the BESC is an anticipation document aimed at enabling shippers to fulfil formalities prior to customs clearance of their goods.
This measure will go into effect starting 1 February 2021.
Douala, 5 January 2021.
