The General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council herby informs CNSC Port Agents that it is generally prohibited to make changes to the transaction number contained in the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).
Consequently, Port Agents are herby called upon to sensitise shippers on the need to make all necessary verifications before entering a transaction number in an ECTN.
Concerning consolidations, Port Agents are also called upon to inform shippers to enter a transaction number in the ECTN only once, that is to say, only after having obtained all the transaction numbers that have been the subject of consolidation. This also holds true for goods, which have been the subject of many Import Declarations (DI), and, thus, have been attributed several transaction numbers.
Port Agents' failure to strictly comply with this requirement shall attract sanctions to be decided by the General Manager.
This measure will come into effect on 1 April 2021.
