CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council herby informs shippers, ship-owners, ship’s agents and other business persons that it is generally prohibited to make changes to the transaction numbers contained in the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).

Consequently, they are herby called upon to make all necessary verifications before entering a transaction number in an ECTN.

Concerning consolidations, they are hereby reminded to enter a transaction number in the ECTN only once, that is to say, only after having obtained all the transaction numbers that have been the subject of consolidation. This also holds true for goods, which have been the subject of many Import Declarations (DI), and, thus, have been attributed several transaction numbers.

As a reminder, the ECTN is an anticipation document aimed at enabling shippers to fulfil formalities prior to customs clearance of their goods.

This measure will come into effect on 1 April 2021.

Douala, 23 March  2021.
