A delegation of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) is attending the expert committee meeting of the Union of African Shippers' Councils (UCCA) on the cost of transporting goods in African ports. The two-day meeting running from 25 to 26 April 2023 is being held in Accra, Ghana.
This delegation includes Mr. Nolga Fernand Douglas, Head of the CNSC Centre Regional Office and Mr. Ngassa Hermann, Sub-Director of Statistics and Transport Observatory. Shippers' Councils from Ghana, Angola, Senegal, Togo, Congo and Nigeria are also taking part in this strategic meeting.
The purpose of this meeting is to assess the impact of maritime transport costs and other tariff practices required for the passage of goods through ports on the activities of African shippers. A natural outcome of this meeting will be the proposal of measures to reduce these costs.
