On the sidelines of the celebration of Commonwealth Day in Cameroon, the Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), Lord Jonathan Peter Marland, paid a series of official visits to government institutions in Yaoundé on 2 March 2026.
He was accompanied during this tour by the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, who doubles as Chairman of the CWEIC Regional Hub for Cameroon, Gabon, Togo and Sierra Leone, hosted by the CNSC.
Lord Jonathan Peter Marland's activities began with a working session at the FEICOM headquarters in Yaoundé in the presence of CWEIC's strategic partners, including representatives of regional councils and heads of public administrations, to discuss issues related to the digitization of learning.
The delegation then visited the Ministry of External Relations, where the official launch of activities for Commonwealth Day 2026 was held in Cameroon, under the theme: “Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth.”
Following the ceremony, Lord Jonathan Peter Marland and Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda were received in audience by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, H.E. Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, and then by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Louis Paul Motaze.
The day ended with a visit to two CWEIC strategic partners, namely Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) and the Hydrocarbon Prices Stabilization Fund (CSPH).
