Cameroon welcomed the 3rd edition of the Councils International Economic Forum (JEICOM) from 2 to 4 June 2025 at the Yaoundé Conference Centre, under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Head of Government Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.
Co-organised by the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon (UCCC) and the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM) under the theme “Councils as Centres of Production: towards the maturation and materialisation of projects”, JEICOM 2025 brought together several national and international institutions.
The Cameroon-Gabon-Togo-Sierra Leone Regional CWEIC Hub took part in this international event, leading a panel discussion on CWEIC's opportunities for local development. The panel featured some of its strategic partners in Cameroon, notably FEICOM and the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), represented by Mrs. Aïcha Maliki, Sub-Director for Trade Facilitation. It was an opportunity for the latter to outline CNSC's contributions to local communities' economic and infrastructural development, through the construction of trucker facilities and cargo warehouses. The panel was honoured to host the High-Commissioner of India, H.E. Vijay Khanduja.
A host of other activities, such as training workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions and a mini fair marked the 2025 edition of JEICOM, highlighting the potential of different Cameroonian towns and cities in promoting the import-substitution policy and ensuring the concretization of development projects.
