The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) organised an open seminar on 5 December 2023 to enlighten foreign trade stakeholders on the progress made so far in the dematerialisation of customs procedures in Cameroon.
The seminar which was chaired by CNSC's General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, took place in the training hall at the CNSC's head office building within the Maritime Business Centre in Douala.
Four experts were invited to deliver presentations. Mrs. Flore Ngo Denga, Head of the CNSC Operations Unit, outlined the CNSC's contribution to the dematerialisation of procedures, while experts from the Directorate General of Customs provided explanations on customs procedures and innovations relating to the introduction of the Single Exit Document (SED). These experts included Mr. Ibrahim Mimche Ngambe, Head of the Facilitation Unit; Mrs. Hadidja Osseini, Head of the IT Development Unit; and Mr. Laurent Ngassa, Head of the Revenue Unit.
During their exchange with CNSC's General Manager, the over 200 participants who attended the seminar expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the presentations and expressed the wish to systematically participate in subsequent seminars organised by the CNSC.
Appointment was taken for the month of February 2024 during which the CNSC organises seminars to sample innovations in foreign trade procedures.
