The seminar organised by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) on 26 and 27 September 2024 at its training hall sought to inform sector players about existing digital tools designed to optimise foreign trade procedures in Cameroon.
Over a hundred foreign trade players attended this training seminar which focused on various "Tools for the digitalisation of foreign trade procedures in Cameroon". Presentations were delivered by experts from the Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE), Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), the Directorate General of Customs (DGD), Kribi Containers Terminal (KCT) and the CNSC.
The topics covered included the new Electronic Cargo Tracking Note application (3rd generation), existing tools for the digitalisation of foreign trade procedures, advances in the SGS information system to the benefit of shippers, electronic services offered by KCT to facilitate import-export procedures at the port of Kribi, and the contribution of the CAMCIS system to streamline cargo clearance procedures.
The seminar was coordinated by CNSC's Sub-Director for Training and International Cooperation, Mr. Telesphore Tonye, and provided solutions to various concerns raised by the participants.
