CNSC, US Embassy hold working session in Yaounde, 19 January 2021
Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the Cameroon National Shipper’s Council (CNSC), was accompanied by Alex Nkondje, CNSC Director for Trade Facilitation and Transport Observatory and Cham Etienne Bama Deputy Director for Foreign Trade promotion.
H.E. Matthew J., acting chargé d'affairs at the US Embassy flanked by his collaborators of the Economic and Commercial Section listened keenly to CNSC’s presentation on its vast transport and trade facilitation infrastructure development programme aimed at promoting cross-border trade that started in 2015. Both parties discussed funding for the construction of trucker accommodation centres for transporters moving transit goods from Cameroon to Chad, CAR, Congo and Nigeria.
During the meeting, the Americans praised the CNSC for gathering and processing international trade statistics and publishing updated data pertaining to foreign trade procedures on its trade information portal, www.cameroontradehum.cm.
At the end of the Yaounde meeting Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager welcomed the prospects for collaboration between the two institutions.
