CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Problems encountered by shippers over the past few weeks in connection with their registration in the Importers'/Exporters' File (FIMEX) were the focus of a consultation meeting held on 12 March 2025 at the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC).

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Roger Dinh Essombe, Sub-Director for Foreign Trade Promotion at the CNSC. Also present were Mr. David Abouem, Head of the Administration and Finance Department at the Ministry of Trade; Mr. André Zambo Zambo, FIMEX Monitoring Operator; Mrs. Aline Kenhoung, Head of the Marketing Department of the Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE); licensed customs brokers; and about fifteen shippers.

A number of recommendations were formulated at the end of the discussions. These included increasing the number of meetings between administrations involved the management of the FIMEX database, making shippers aware of the need to use the GUCE platform for their registrations, integrating the endorsement of the Ministry of Trade into the GUCE platform, and setting up a control system to avoid double payments.
