CNSC staff drilled on SIP PAK
The Port Authority of Kribi raises awareness on the management of port access requests.
Some eight Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) staff drawn from the head office in Douala and the South Regional office in Kribi attended a training seminar on PAK Port Information System’s (PAK PIS) access, pick up and delivery of goods. The seminar, which held at the CNSC South Regional Office in Kribi, was conducted by Mr. Landry Ndjend, Head of the Software Engineering and Integration Department of the Kribi Port Authority (PAK) IT Division.
During the first part of the training seminar, the speaker presented the Port Information System (PIS). The PIS is a platform put in place for the automated management of Kribi Port operations. It covers, among other things, the management and ship stopovers, the management of information from the harbour master's office, the management and monitoring of goods (Imports, Exports, Transhipment).
The training aimed at making it easier for foreign trade players to go through the Kribi Port gatehouse. "Shippers will no longer have to present printed documents to obtain port access badges, everything will now be done electronically from our offices," Mr. Georges Eteta’a, CNSC South Regional Manager said. The training forms part of the dematerialisation of operations at the Kribi Port.
