CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Some members of the Cercle des Étudiants Ressortissants Camerounais de la Regional Maritime University (CERCARMU) in Accra, Ghana, were welcomed at the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council in Douala today, 28 March 2024.

Led by their president, Mr. Afa'Asseh Folloh, these students came to share their difficulties in obtaining internships and employment in Cameroon's maritime and port sector. They anchored on the CNSC for solutions conscious of its strategic role in the national logistics chain. Their greatest wish is to see the creation of a platform that would make it easier for RMU students to integrate the local sector.

These concerns were voiced by the students from the Regional Maritime University during a meeting chaired by Mr. Merveille Tonye, CNSC’s Deputy Director for Training and International Cooperation.  In the course of discussions, they were reassured of the General Manager’s willingness to consider their applications for these positions, and to support them where possible.

After thanking the students for having trusted the CNSC in their search for solutions, Mr. Merveille Tonye invited the students to visit the Douala Maritime Museum and try out its new navigation simulator
