The training hall of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) hosted a discussion workshop today, 24 April 2025, on “The procedure for exporting non-timber forest and agricultural products by air in Cameroon”.
The workshop was coordinated by CNSC's Director for Trade Facilitation and Transports Observatory, Mr. Fernand Douglas Nolga, and falls within the framework of CNSC's capacity-building programme to help shippers better understand existing regulations for the export of non-timber forest and agricultural products in Cameroon.
Over forty shippers, business persons, customs brokers and agents were present at the workshop which featured presentations by experts from the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife (MINFOF), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), the Directorate General of Customs (DGD) and the Cameroon Airports Company (ADC).
The discussion panels focused on topics such as the identification and presentation of the general requirements for exporting non-timber forest products (NTFPs), customs formalities for exporting non-timber forest and agricultural products, applicable regulations and tariffs for cargo handling, as well as required documentation and procedures to be followed.
The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to share some of the administrative hassles and errors made during their operations, simply because they did not have a proper mastery of export procedures.
