The training seminar which began on 29 January at the Douala Maritime Museum and organised by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), ended yesterday, 30 January 2026.
This second session was dedicated to further explaining the innovations of the new finance law, enabling participants to gain better mastery of provisions applicable to import and export operations.
Mr. Paul Olivier Libii Libii, senior customs inspector, delivered a presentation on the context within which the finance law was elaborated, the budget and major guidelines. He highlighted the mechanisms for combating fraud, promoting youth employment and strengthening exemption measures in favour of business persons.
Two experts from Société Général de Surveillance (SGS), Mr. Issofa Kpouzamoun and Mrs. Falimatou Choufa, also delivered a presentation explaining the role their institution plays in securing and facilitating trade operations, particularly through mechanisms for cargo control, inspection and certification.
During the discussion phase, participants asked practical questions touching on their daily activities for which they obtained answers tailored to the reality in the field. The discussion provided and opportunity for the different actors to share their experiences and good practices. This training is CNSC's contribution towards maintaining the competitiveness of Cameroon's foreign trade within the context of the new 2026 Finance Law.
