The UK-Cameroon B2B Networking Forum took place at the Douala Grand Mall on 12 January 2022. This forum is one of many activities organized to promote the “Made in Cameroon” agenda and to celebrate the contribution of businesses and the Diaspora to Cameroon’s economic growth. The event was attended by business persons, company representatives and a number of prominent personalities amongst whom the British High Commissioner, H.E Dr. Christian Dennys-McClure, the Chairman of the UK-Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Elias Pungong, HRH Nfon Ekoko Mukete, First Vice President of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Mathurin Jidjouc, CEO of the Douala Grand Mall who doubled as the main host.

Prior to this event, the Douala Grand Mall had organized a networking event between local businesses and British businesses from the UK-Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, and also facilitated the establishment of business ties with companies in the West Midlands, which are all essential steps in building new relationships between companies from both states and charting new grounds for commercial exchange in key growth sectors.

“It is common knowledge that the UK and Cameroon have signed an Economic Partnership Agreement, marking a key turning point in trading relationships between both States. The recent appointment of a UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Cameroon further emphasizes our ambition to deepen this relationship. Our hope is to see more bilateral business interactions in the coming months around the PROMOTE international business fair and also around the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham”, a representative of the British High Commission remarked.

The ultimate aim is to boost trade between the UK and Cameroon.
