The 4th Tripartite Forum on cargo transit through the ports of Cameroon holding in Kribi since 9 January came to an end on Thursday 11 January 2024.
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Transport, Mr. Zakariaou Njoya. He was assisted by the Ministers of Transport from Chad and the Central African Republic. Over three days, some 350 participants from Chad, the Central African Republic and Cameroon, the host country, took part in the proceedings.
Minister Delegate Zakariaou Njoya, in his closing speech, congratulated the organisers on the success of the Forum while urging the current Chairman of the Port Community of Cameroon (Port Synthèse) and General Manager of the Port Authority of Kribi, Mr. Patrice Melom, to ensure that the recommendations of the 4th Tripartite Forum held in Cameroon are implemented.
For this edition, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), the host Shippers' Council, statutorily assumed the role of General Rapporteur for the proceedings. The Forum's concluding report was read out by CNSC's Deputy General Manager, Mr. Younousss Soungui. The delegates have agreed to meet again in Ndjamena, Chad, where the 5th Tripartite Forum will be held.
