Launched on 12 July 2024 and organised by the Network of Active Women of Central Africa (REFAC) under the coordination of Mrs. Danielle Nlate, the 15th edition of the Central Africa Annual Cross-Border Trade Fair (FOTRAC) is taking place at the Ebolowa Sports Complex in the South Region.
This year's edition themed “Facilitating trade, promoting dialogue and cross-border cooperation for the socio-economic and cultural development of Africa under AfCFTA”, welcomed over 150 participants from seven countries (Benin, Senegal, Chad, Niger, CAR, DRC, Congo and Côte d'Ivoire).
The main products on exhibition include handicrafts, textiles, agri-foods, cosmetics and pharmacopoeia.
The official launching ceremony which featured a number of cultural performances, was presided over by Mr. Felix Nguele Nguele, Governor of the South Region. He was accompanied by Mrs. Brusil Miranda Metou, Secretary General at the Ministry of Trade, Mr. Jules DJEKI, Governor of the Wouleu-Ntem Province in Gabon, and a host of other guests.
The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) is taking an active part in FOTRAC-2024 with an exhibition stand where it is informing visitors about its missions, achievements and projects to support SMEs. In line with its mission to promote cross-border trade and provide assistance to SMEs, CNSC’s stand is hosting the Cameroonian Federation of Common Initiative Groups engaged in the processing of agricultural products, known by its French acronym FUTPAC. Since 8 July, FUTPAC has been showcasing locally sourced products at CNSC’s stand to promote the "Made in Cameroon" brand.
Ladies from this association took part in a contest for the best processed food products in Africa and won a total of 11 medals: 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze, for the different "Made in Cameroon" products to their credit.
