CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On Friday, 17 October 2025, the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, chaired a meeting with owners of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) who took part in the just-ended Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) held in Algiers from 4 to 10 September 2025.

The meeting took place at CNSC’s head office in Douala and sought to conduct a review of the participation of Cameroonian SMEs in this continental business rendez-vous. Among the participants were the promoters of NOHI Chocolatiers (back from Algiers having signed a partnership deal with the Algerian company, Technocast), La Cuisine de Nounou, Authentic Foods Cameroon, JAOF Food, GIC ANAB and Ma C’est Mo.

All the SMEs in attendance, each presented the advantages as well as the difficulties encountered in Algiers during their participation in the trade fair. They expressed gratitude to the General Manager for the supervision and support they received prior to and during the trade fair. Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda in turn congratulated them on the results achieved and encouraged them in their efforts.

To further this support, CNSC plans to produce a documentary on the cloth-weaving process. Also, CNSC would negotiate with AFREXIMBANK to give SMEs easy access to major funding. The goal is to boost the development and presence of Cameroonian SMEs on African markets.

This move by the CNSC marks a step further in its drive to actively contribute to making the Cameroonian economy more competitive within the African continental free trade area.
