On the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), Cameroon’s Embassy in Algeria organised a Cameroon-Algeria Day on Monday, 8 September 2025.
A host of Cameroonian institutions were present at the event, including the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), the Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), the Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE), the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) and a delegation of local SMEs. Many Algerian SMEs and investors equally took part in the discussions.
The event mainly aimed to foster economic partnerships through matchmaking and B2B sessions, shedding light on opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the inherent possibilities to strengthen trade ties between Cameroon and Algeria. CNSC-led SMEs showcased a variety of products and services in strategic sectors such as agrifood, textile, cocoa and aluminium, all of which piqued the interest of Algerian partners.
Each institution used this platform to highlight its activities. It was an opportunity for the CNSC to recall its missions, which include providing support to SMEs and facilitating foreign trade, while renewing its unwavering commitment to ensure the effective implementation of the AfCFTA.
The B2B sessions offered participants an opportunity to identify concrete avenues for cooperation, particularly with regard to investments, distribution, local processing and technological transfer.
