The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) is participating in the first Chadian Shippers' Days launched on 11 July 2024 and scheduled to end on 13 July 2024. Discussions at the event are centred on the theme "Facilitating cargo transit and transport for landlocked countries: tackling logistical and operational challenges".
The CNSC is being represented at the event by Mr. Cham Etienne Bama, Technical Adviser No. 1, and Mr. Kassala Hamidou, Regional Branch Manager at CNSC’s Far North Office. It's participation in this event organised by the Chadian Shippers' Council (COC-TCHAD) is evidence of its commitment to the shared objective of promoting foreign trade.
Mr. Cham Etienne Bama delivered a presentation on the role of shippers' councils in the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), wherein he highlighted both the opportunities offered by the AfCFTA for shippers and prospects for African shippers' councils.
The CNSC's presence at the Chadian Shippers' Days is consistent with its policy to facilitate cross-border trade. As a reminder, the CNSC has since 2010 embarked on a vast programme to construct trucker accommodation centres along the Douala-Kribi, Ndjamena and Bangui road corridors, and to establish offices in border towns with considerable volumes of cross-border trade.
