Strategically positioned in the Ministry of Transport pavilion, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) is presenting its missions and actions geared towards promoting Cameroon's foreign trade and protecting the interests of shippers.
Talking about foreign trade promotion, fairgoers who happened to have visited the CNSC stand were schooled on the opportunities and advantages of trading under the AfCFTA regime using a wide variety of communication aids. These aids enabled visitors and other scouted local business persons to better understand key concepts of the project.
It is noteworthy that Cameroon is amongst the eight pilot countries alongside Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Rwanda, Tanzania and Tunisia, selected for the implementation of the AfCFTA project and represent five different regions of Africa. The strategic role and prime position of Cameroon in this new African market is made evident by the creation of an Ad hoc Sub Committee to facilitate the implementation of the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative chaired by CNSC’s General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda.
