CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On Tuesday, March 3rd, the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations, H.E. Chinmoun Oumarou, representing the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, and Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), jointly presided over the opening ceremony of activities gearing up to the grand celebration of the Commonwealth Day. This was at the Town Hall of Cameroon’s capital city, Yaoundé.

CNSC's participation at the event is centred on activities that could promote trade with Commonwealth member states. The two-phase event comprises a mini-fair and an awareness-raising seminar to shed light on business and trade opportunities amongst Commonwealth states.

Several companies and public establishments, amongst which the CNSC, demonstrated their presence through exhibition stands wherein they sensitise the public on their activities and objectives. CNSC's Sub-director for the Promotion of Foreign Trade, Mr. Etienne Cham, saw the awareness-raising seminar as a befitting opportunity to present on the strategic institutional partnership between the CNSC and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), as well as the opportunities and prospects engendered by this partnership. Note that the MINREX-CNSC partnership mainly seeks to identify and propose to the Government of Cameroon, innovative projects that could enable companies registered on the platform to get assistance from CWEIC.
