The official launch of the mini trade fair organized by the Ministry of External Relations as part of the commemorative activities for the observance of the 2023 Commonwealth Day, took place today, Thursday, 9 March 2023, at the Courtyard of the National Museum in Yaounde. The mini fair, baptized the Commonwealth Exhibition Village, was chaired by the Director of the Commonwealth in Cameroon, Mrs. Anne Oben, assisted by H.E. Paul Patrick Biffot, Gabon’s ambassador to Cameroon. 

 

In her welcome address, Mrs. Anne Oben was keen to thank participants for their partnership with the Commonwealth. She also underlined that “the commonwealth village represents a platform which enables the government, public and private institutions, to share experiences, strengthen and diversify their network and economic connectivity”. These are the words with which she indulged exhibitors to seize the opportunity to showcase their activities and open up to potential partnerships in view of the achievement of common goals.

 

The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), a strategic institutional partner of the business wing of the Commonwealth, was present at this event and seized the occasion to inform the public of its missions and objectives. Visitors to CNSC’s stand were sure to leave with answers to any import/export-related inquiries and communication aids elaborating complex import/export trade procedures. Emphasis was also laid on the vast opportunities offered by the new access to the markets of Commonwealth member states through CWEIC.
