On 24 May 2021, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNsC) represented by its Director for Trade Facilitation and Transport Observatory, Mr. Alex Kondje, received a delegation from the Cameroon Association of Employers (GICAM). The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Vincent Kouete, GICAM Deputy Executive Director.
"Our visit to the CNSC is part of a series of visits organised by GICAM to better know its members so as to further strengthen their partnership for better collaboration," Vincent Kouete said.
During the meeting, the CNSC and GICAM briefed each other on their respective missions and field achievements. It enabled both parties to lay the basis for future collaboration within a more specific consultation framework, notably the professionalisation of foreign trade actors, the reduction of cargo transit costs and time at the Cameroon ports and the movement of truck in towns.
At the end of the meeting, the Executive Directorate of GICAM promised to visit CNSC's Dibamba Trucker Accommodation Centre to have a feel of the realities and workings of the facility that offers secure and comfortable accommodation for truckers plying the Douala-Ndjamena and Douala-Bangui road corridors. The Dibamba trucker facility is an initiative of the CNSC which has embarked on a vast programme to build trade and transport facilitation infrastructure along the trans-Cameroon road
