CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 24 December 2024, over 150 children flocked to the Douala Maritime Museum for its traditional Christmas tree party.

Coordinated by Mr. Theodore Dippah Kayesse, Head of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), the event was marked sharing and communion in a fun and family-like atmosphere.

Clown shows, singing of Christmas carols, and a visit to baby Jesus, were some of the activities proposed by CNSC's partner for the occasion, the cultural troupe “Les Gazelles”. These interactive activities subtly raised young children's awareness about hygiene, respect for elders and non-violence, among other things.

In addition, the kids shared a common meal, received gifts and each had the opportunity to experience the museum's Storm Room.

The event was gratifying for the coordinator of “les gazelles” Mrs. Lydienne Bilong who, disguised as Santa Claus, expressed her gratitude to CNSC's General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, for his unwavering commitment to youth development since 2015, when the Maritime Museum first launched its "Fun and Educational Holidays" Programme.
