H.E. Felix TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO to chair 12th  UASC General Assembly in Kinshasa from 19 to 24 April 2021.

At the invitation of Mr Ervé Sébastien Ilboudou, Chairman of the Union of African Shippers' Councils (UASC) and General Manager of the Burkinabé Shippers' Council (CBC), all the members of the union which brings together national shippers' councils of West and Central African  countries will meet in Kinshasa from 19 to 24 April 2021 in Kinshasa.

The meeting will bring together delegates from Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, Congo Brazzaville, DRC, CAR, Senegal and Chad. Agenda items include assessment of level of implementation of the resolutions of the last General Assembly held in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso from 6 to 9 February 2018, transfer of power between the outgoing and incoming Chairpersons, adoption of the revised UASC organisational instruments and the election of a new bureau, UASC Standing Committees and auditors.

On the sidelines of this UASC Ordinary General Assembly, the UASC and the Multimodal Freight Management Board (OGEFREM) will organise an International Conference on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The purpose of the side event is to discuss mechanisms that will help facilitate trade  in the area and to adopt strategies to make their institutions work amid this period of Coronavirus pandemic which is slowing down activities.
