CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

In preparation for the launch of the new Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) issuance platform for imports, due on 1 January 2025, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) organised a training workshop for shippers and other foreign trade actors.

With over 120 participants, the workshop held on 26 December 2024 in the training hall at the CNSC head office in Douala. A detailed presentation of the new ECTN application was done by Mr. Claude Koum, Head of the CNSC Information Systems Division (DSI), assisted by Mr. Elvis Tsaguim, CNSC Director for Operations and Projects.

During the workshop, participants were given a detailed explanation of the changes brought about by the new ECTN application. Such changes relate to procedures and data quality, notably through the interconnection with Customs IT systems, the elimination of “shipping agents”, and a more detailed data collection.

To help participants understand the new system, a demonstration session was led by Mr. Claude Koum, who also reassured participants that all ECTN requests initiated using the old version would be processed until the eve of the launch of the new procedure for export and regularisation ECTNs, planned for 1 March 2025.

A hypertext link has been created on the CNSC website to provide individual support for users of the new ECTN application. A follow-up training session will also hold online via the zoom link https://shorturl.at/hQPJN on 27 December 2024 starting at 10:00 a.m.
