On February 8, 2026, the Douala Maritime Museum (DMM) welcomed staff from the Haemodialysis Department of the Douala General Hospital. The 20-man team of health experts came to learn about Cameroon's maritime history.

During their tour, the medical staff discovered, through a series of photographs, the origins of maritime trade on the Cameroonian coast, former Cameroonian customs documents, traditional fishing tools, and many other fascinating objects.

The highlight of their visit was undoubtedly the “Storm Room” and its impressive 3D technology. The women in the delegation, particularly impressed by the rich collections, expressed their great satisfaction. Carried away by this enthusiasm, they announced their intention to make a visit to the Douala Maritime Museum the focus of their activities during Women's Week in March 2026.

With this opportunity to host staff of the Douala General Hospital, the Maritime Museum is reaffirming its reputation as a cultural landmark that offers visitors unforgettable fun and educational moments.
