CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) has been participating since Wednesday, 13 May 2026, in the proceedings of the 111th session of the Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), being held in London, United Kingdom.
CNSC's delegation to London is composed of Mr. Yamen Tchendjo Achil Rosère, Technical Adviser, and Mr. Nolga Fernand Douglas, Director for Trade Facilitation and Transport Observatory.


Key topics discussed during this session, scheduled to end on Friday, 22 May 2026, include:
- The establishment of a regulatory framework for automated ships;
- The impact of current geopolitical tensions on international maritime transport and seafarers;
- The evolution of regulations governing the use of alternative fuels;
- The adoption of new amendments to the SOLAS Convention.


The Maritime Safety Committee is one of IMO’s main technical bodies addressing issues related to the safety and security of maritime navigation, as well as the human element in international shipping, such as training and certification of seafarers.
