The second consultation meeting which brought on board actors of the wood sector was held today, 9 May 2022, at the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC). This meeting comes second to that which rallied stakeholders of the livestock sector and GICAM on 6 May 2022.
Chaired by CNSC's Deputy General Manager, Mr. Younouss Soungui, the meeting was attended by shippers and transporters of the wood sector hoping to find common ground on the minimum applicable rates for wood transport.
The consensus on the said minimum rate was preceded by an exchange of views between actors of the timber sector, who took time to list out the numerous difficulties they face in doing business. CNSC's next consultation meeting will take place on 12 May 2022 with stakeholders of the brewery industry.
