CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Maritime and Oceanic Law Centre (CDMO) at the University of Nantes, headed by Professor Martin Ndende, organised a side event on 10 June 2025 at the Faculty of Law in Nice on “Global ocean governance and major challenges for the 21st century”.

Several African states invited to the United Nations Conference on Oceans in Nice participated in this meeting. Cameroon was represented by the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK), the National Ports Authority (NPA) and the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC).

The various panels and conferences were led by top-notch academics who discussed topics such as the protection of marine life against IUU fishing, the challenges of decarbonising maritime transport and the challenges of global warming for the oceans.

At the end of the conference, Professor Martin Ndende, promoter of the International Chair in Ocean Governance, Maritime Risk Management and Sustainable Blue Economy, launched his activities, having as moderator Mr. Eric Chinje, a communication expert for the promotion of the blue economy.
