CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On Saturday, 7 February 2026, the Douala Maritime Museum welcomed about fifty young boys and girls from the “Cameroon Scouts Movement" of the Douala I District.

The young scouts proudly turned out in their uniforms with the distinctive badges of their organisation. Their decision to make this trip was orchestrated by their desire to discover Cameroon's maritime history and the content of the museum's exhibitions.

Over the course of their visit, the young scouts tried out the maritime navigation simulator and the storm room. Going beyond the model ships and traditional navigation instruments, they discovered Cameroon's fascinating maritime world and its artefacts.

The visit also gave them an opportunity to discuss the role of man in this maritime world and the need to protect Cameroon’ maritime heritage.
