The association, Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA) – Cameroon chapter held its general assembly to elect its national executive bureau on 23 January 2026 at the Douala Maritime Museum.
During the session, Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop, CNSC's Director for Shippers' Assistance, was elected National President of WIMA CAMEROON. Taking over from Mrs. Gwendoline Moussongui, senior staff at the National Port Authority and outgoing president of WIMA Cameroon, a position she occupied for three years. To the women, this was an opportunity to praise her commitment and actions geared towards the empowerment of women in the Maritime sector, a hall mark of her term of office.
The installation of the new executive bureau took place under the chairmanship of Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC's General Manager and honorary president of WIMA CAMEROON. Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda praised the association for the ground covered since its creation in 2015.
A number of CNSC Ladies were elected to positions of responsibility in the new executive bureau. Mrs. Catherine Mella Kamdem was elected Vice President in charge of Communication; Mrs. Aicha Maliki, Vice President in charge of AFE and AfCFTA; Mrs. Gaelle Eboupeke Mbassi, Vice President in charge of Legal Affairs; Mrs. Solange Ndomkeu, Statutory Auditor; Mrs. Armelle Makasso and Mrs. Lewono Mbassi respectively Technical Advisers No. 1 and 5.
The newly constituted WIMA CAMEROON executive bureau comprises women drawn from administrative bodies and companies of the port community, including CNSC, PAD, PAK, DGD, GUCE, APN, CMA CGM, MAERSK and Super Maritime.
