SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Douala port area will host the inaugural ceremony for the first containerised shipment to Algeria under the preferential AfCFTA regime tomorrow, Friday 5 July 2024 as from 10:00 a.m. The shipment in question consists of 25 tonnes of aluminium ingots manufactured by ALUCAM (Cameroon Aluminium Company) for the Algerian company ALFILECT.

 

This shipment has been concluded under the coordination of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council which currently hosts the Ad hoc Sub-committee charged with the implementation and monitoring of the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative in Cameroon.

The ceremony will be presided over by Cameroon's Trade Minister, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, personal representative of the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
