The African Export-Import Bank and the General Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) are organising the AfCFTA Intra-African Trade Fair in Cairo, Egypt, from 9 to 15 November 2023.
In the run-up to this event, the Ad-hoc Sub-Committee in charge of the implementation of the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative, chaired by Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, who also happens to be the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), held a meeting at the CNSC today, 10 October 2023, with Cameroonian entrepreneurs wishing to showcase their products in Cairo.
During the working session, these entrepreneurs took turns in presenting samples of their different "Made in Cameroon" products, including flour, cocoa products and cosmetics. By attending the fair in Cairo, these entrepreneurs hope to take full advantage of the benefits of AfCFTA as they envisage engaging in export trade.
The purpose of the meeting was to put in place a joint strategy to better showcase Cameroonian products in Cairo. Local entrepreneurs should also take advantage of this business opportunity offered by the CNSC to forge trade relations with their counterparts in other AfCFTA member states eligible for the 2nd phase of the Guided Trade Initiative.
