A delegation from the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) was received at the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) on 28 May 2024. The delegation consisted of a dozen company directors of the construction, metallurgy and agri-food sectors, among others.
Present in Douala to attend the Moroccan Business and Trade Forum running from 27 to 31 May 2024, the delegation, led by Mr. Mounir Ferram, Executive Director of ASMEX, visited the CNSC to learn more about the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) in Cameroon, with a view to establishing trade relations.
The delegation was received by senior officials of the CNSC, including Mr. Etienne Cham Bama, Technical Adviser No. 1 and coordinator of the technical secretariat of the Ad Hoc Sub-Committee charged with the implementation of AfCFTA's Guided Trade Initiative in Cameroon. The fruitful exchanges revealed the likelihood of closer collaboration between the CNSC and the Moroccan Association of Exporters.
Meanwhile, CNSC's Director for Trade Facilitation and Transports Observatory, Mr. Fernand Nolga, was invited to present a paper on trade prospects and partnership between Morocco and Cameroon at the forum on 29 May 2024, at Hotel AKWA PALACE in Douala
