CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The 21st Annual General Assembly of the African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) held from 4 to 7 March 2025 in Douala, under the chairmanship of AFUR President Mr. Demanou Tapamo.

Alongside the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), many African regulatory companies also took part in the working sessions organised under the theme “Use of smart technologies in public services: How can regulators foster innovation while protecting consumers?”.

A key outcome of deliberations at the forum is CNSC's admission to the Association Continentale des Régulateurs Africains (Continental Association of African Regulators). This was materialized by an official ceremony to welcome the CNSC to this new position, and during which Mr. Younousss Soungui, CNSC Deputy General Manager and personal representative of the General Manager Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, received the certificate of membership designating the CNSC as an observer member. This newly acquired status authorizes the CNSC to participate in all AFUR activities.

Along with the CNSC, other Cameroonian companies including the Radiological Safety and Nuclear Protection Authority (ASRAN), the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), the National Agency for Telecommunication and Information Technologies (ANTIC), the National Communication Council (NCC), the Standards and Quality Agency (ANOR), and the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB) also joined the rank of observer member at AFUR.
