Given the high cost of fares, the inadequacy of routes between States, the deterioration of airport infrastructures, and the shortcomings in air navigation assistance, experts from the Cemac sub-region will be exploring, from 18 to 19 January 2023, relevant avenues to make air transport a cornerstone of development.

 

Cameroon's economic capital will be the centre of air transport in Central Africa for 48 hours. as it will host an international conference on air transport in Central Africa (Citac) under the umbrella theme of "how to boost air transport in Central Africa". According to the organisers, "air transport is generally known to be a vector of economic growth and poverty alleviation. Investments made in this sector are meant to facilitate trade. And, because they allow for greater mobility, these investments also favor human development in countries.
