The 9th edition of the awareness-raising caravan to encourage Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to join Approved Management Centres (CGAs) was officially launched in Kribi in the South Region by the Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Mr. Achile Bassilekin III.

 

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), in its capacity as a technical partner of MINPMEESA, actively took part in the proceedings which ran from 8 to 9 October 2024, in the presence of a host of entrepreneurs and government officials.

 

The CNSC delegation, made up of Mr. Emmanuel Sone Makogue, Assistant Service Head for Import Assistance, and Miss. Natacha Noungoua, an executive staff of the same service, delivered a presentation on ‘The role of the CNSC in supporting Cameroon's SMEs’. The presentation highlighted concrete initiatives taken by the CNSC daily to support SMEs, including specialised training programmes, enhanced support at international events, and strategic partnerships with various technical and financial players.

 

The 9th edition of the awareness-raising caravan for SME membership of CGAs also gave SME and CGA representatives a better understanding of the institutional mechanisms put in place by the government to promote the growth and professionalisation of Cameroon's economic fabric, of which 99% is made up of SMEs. Discussions focused on tax incentives, financing mechanisms and technical support strategies deployed to boost the competitiveness of local businesses.

 

The CNSC reaffirmed its commitment to assisting SMEs in becoming more competitive and gaining greater access to international markets.
