Naval officers will ensure better use of navigation simulator.

On 27 April 2021, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager and promoter of the Douala Maritime Museum had the pleasure of receiving in his office a delegation of the Cameroon Navy led by Navy Captain Christophe Ndzana Mvondo, Commander of the Douala Naval Base. During discussions, the visiting delegation undertook to make the most of the Douala Maritime Museum simulator, which is the only simulator that is open to the public in a museum in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa. Cameroon Navy personnel will assist in the training of museum staff to better understand the functioning of the simulator, which constitutes an invaluable training tool.

The training to be coordinated by the Douala Naval Base Commander will comprise a theoretical Naval Specialties phase (SINAS).

The nascent collaboration between the CNSC through the Douala Maritime Museum and the Cameroon Navy will create the synergy of skills for various maritime sector actors. It is the realisation of the concept of "Army - Nation" that is so dear to H.E. Paul Biya, President of the Republic of Cameroon and Commander-in-Chief of the Cameroon Defence Forces. Moreover, the section of the Douala Maritime Museum that showcases vestiges of the Cameroon Navy will be further consolidated.

Satisfied with the interest aroused by the presence of the simulator at the Douala Maritime Museum, the CNSC General Manager expressed his determination to bring their collaboration to fruition: "I attach great importance to continuing collaboration between us and all the necessary arrangements will be made for the implementation of the proposed actions”- he concluded.
